Down the next aisle you might find certain future Hall of Famer Bailey debating the merits of one video game versus another. Davis brought his family, who contributed as shopping consultants. And who knew Reid would be so adept at helping two young girls pick out just the right belt and shoes for a family member? Bruton put everyone to shame with his outstanding gift-wrapping skills and Barmes came loaded down with Colorado Rockies playoff T-shirts that he signed for each child.
“This is a special thing,” said Dumervil. “It’s important to come out and give the kids something to inspire them, to let them know people care about them. “You see guys come out like Darrell Reid, Andra Davis, David Bruton (and others)…a lot of guys show support and show that we care about the community.”
