Event chairmen Bailey and Lynch hosted the event. Co-chairman Foxworth, who has given his time and talents teaching a writing class at the Club and was instrumental in the creation of the Teen Center, was unable to attend after being traded to the Atlanta Falcons just 13 days before the event. Lynch delivered a message of thanks to the audience on Foxworth’s behalf.

More than 400 people packed Morton’s for the event, including some of the brightest stars in Denver’s professional sports scene.

In addition to Bailey and Lynch, Broncos all-time receiving leader Rod Smith came to support the cause and reunite with some of his former Broncos teammates. He was joined by current Broncos Brandon Marshall, Daniel Graham, Boss Bailey, Ebenezer Ekuban, Mike Leach, Nate Jackson, Hamza Abdullah and Ryan Torain. Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony also attended, and was joined by teammates J.R. Smith and Dahntay Jones.

They were also joined by a special guest of honor, Darrent’s mother Rosalind Williams, who traveled from her home in Forth Worth, Texas to attend. She had visited the Teen Center earlier in the day, and expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the support given by so many to carry on her son’s dreams of helping children. More...
