9.16.2009 :: THE ROD SMITH SHOW HITS THE AIR FRIDAY ON ESPN RADIO 1600

Continued from page 1...

The two-time Super Bowl champion and 2009 inductee into both the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame will give listeners the player’s perspective as he, Lombardi and Miller look ahead to upcoming weekend’s games. Smith, who this week was named to the Denver Broncos’ 50th Anniversary team along with Elway, McCaffrey and Schlereth, built his reputation as a tireless worker on and off the field, for whom anything less than a championship was unacceptable. He joined the Broncos in 1994 as an undrafted free agent, and retired with more receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns than any undrafted player in NFL history. He continues to have a strong presence in Colorado through his entrepreneurial work with Rod Smith International, which includes his Healthy Coffee business. “The Sports Insiders” airs Monday through Friday from 7-9 a.m. on ESPN Radio 1600 and brings two of the most recognizable authorities on sports in Colorado. CBS4’s Lombardi and Miller have earned the respect of players, coaches, fans and fellow members of the media for their straightforward, intelligent and entertaining approach to their reporting and commentary.
